Prime Vitamin and Mineral Supplement
PRIME adds essential vitamins and minerals to commercially prepared seed mixes for pet birds. It also provides adequate amounts of two essential and limiting amino acids—lysine and methionine—which birds cannot synthesize but are vital for growth and proper protein metabolism.
THE BEST WAY TO ENSURE COMPLETE NUTRITION FOR ALL PET BIRDS
Did you know that the PRIME SUPPLEMENT ..
It is a very fine and highly palatable powder.
It is absorbed by soft foods for accurate dosing.
It contains 14 vitamins and 9 minerals missing from most diets.
It contains more vitamins C and E.
With calcium gluconate, it provides the necessary amount of calcium, which is lacking in most supplements.
It has an exotic fruit aroma, without added sugars that can promote pathogens.
Lysine and methionine are amino acids that improve the quality of dietary protein.
It is a unique combination of enzymes and acidifiers to improve digestion.
It contains microencapsulated beneficial bacteria (probiotics) to promote the well-being of all birds.
It significantly improves the growth of hand-weaned chicks.
Years of research and field trials have led to the most advanced avian supplement.
PRIME has excelled above all other supplements on the market for all pet bird species with their essential nutrients. The ingredients were selected exclusively on the basis of needs. This translates into high levels of nutrients that are actually needed by the birds. For correct dosage, we recommend sprinkling PRIME on your pet birds’ favorite fruits and vegetables. The Prime supplement is essential for all birds that have a seed-based diet.
It’s true that some special pets who eat a wide variety of foods get many more nutrients than their less fortunate companions, but diets characterized by table food—vegetables, fruits, and so on—are difficult to balance.
How can you know if the ratio of phosphorus to calcium offered is correct (much less if what is offered has actually been ingested)? Or what amino acids were ingested? – all or some of them? The Bronx Zoo conducted a study on captive birds: even though they offered a nutritionally balanced diet, with finely chopped and mixed ingredients, they still had cases of birds with deficiencies. This is because the birds still chose some favorite ingredients while leaving out others.
Parrots during the weaning or brooding period will benefit from PRIME thanks to its extremely high calcium content.
Birds with a basic need should have a handful of Prime on top of fruits and vegetables every morning. Use in water is possible, but not recommended, as most consumers object to the sulfur dioxide odor produced by our beneficial formula. PRIME is not sugar-based, so it will not dissolve instantly in water, but will take a few minutes. PRIME has a lot of calcium so with water it could be a saturated solution. For all these reasons we recommend using it dry on foods.
The first non-liquid vitamin and mineral supplement. Solid supplements are more effective. Additionally, PRIME has MICRO ENCAPSULATED beneficial bacteria, increasing their stability. This makes it ideal for newcomers and during stressful times. These beneficial bacteria help reduce the pH in the intestinal lumen, creating a negative environment for opportunistic pathogens such as E. coli.
Research and development
In the spring of 1984 Hari began his research on vitamins and minerals for birds. Dozens of bird foods and supplements were examined to determine the nutritional quality of the products offered on the market. They concluded that there was a real need for a product specifically designed for specific requirements, practical and effective.
Hari’s Prime formula is based on the following objectives: first, to understand the difference between the nutritional value of basic foods (6/3/1 ratio: seeds / vegetables / fruits) and the actual needs of birds, and second, to prepare a food supplement that meets the deficiencies.
Although fruits and vegetables (soft foods) reduce overall fat intake, they do not contain sufficient amounts of many limiting minerals, vitamins, and essential amino acids. They act as an effective vehicle for the supplement.
The research helped design a unique formulation available as a concentrated, soluble powder containing 14 vitamins, 9 minerals, and 2 essential amino acids that birds cannot synthesize. Compared to other supplements, beneficial bacteria, acids, electrolytes and enzymes have been added. However, Prime supplement is not a comprehensive package; its ingredients and dosage have been determined based on the actual needs of birds. A detailed review of the Prime supplement reveals that it is a superior product.
Vitamins
The Prime supplement contains 14 vitamins, including a high content of vitamins E and C which promote reproduction and act as antioxidants. While vitamin C is not essential for many birds, it is a natural antioxidant that prevents the deactivation of other important vitamins. Unfortunately, many products do not contain these 14 vitamins, especially water-based ones, in which the vitamins oxidize more quickly. Vitamin C also acts as a natural preservative. Finally, it helps reduce disease risks for birds during times of stress.
